It was a great day at Wrigley today! The Cubs beat the Cards in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the 11th thanks to a 2 run homer by Aramis Ramirez. Top that off with easily the nicest day we've had so far this Spring, the Bulls winning their first playoff game in Boston, and the Hawks up 3-2 on the Flames, and I'd say just about everyone in this town is in a good mood today. I figure no better day than today to start my blog.
At this point, I'm sure you're wondering though, "Jen, why are you starting a blog?" Well, first off, its 2009, and I figure if my MOM can successfully navigate Facebook, I can find a thing or two to write about and publish online. That, and, I'm clearly not writing my first book anytime soon. Also, I'm watching hockey, so clearly I'm bored. Though, as a Chicagoan, I will support all Chicago sports teams (except the Sox of course), so yay for playoff hockey.
But seriously, I've got a lot going on this summer, or at least a lot of things I'm planning on doing. In addition to concerts, vacations, getting my tan back, a work softball league, and much more, I'm also moving in with my boyfriend of a year and a half, Mike, and training for my first ever Marathon. Yoikes!
I used to keep a diary in high school and part of college - in fact, I still have them...somewhere. I guess this is the next installment of my "diary." My main goal is for this to not suck. Now, don't expect me to be too forthcoming with juicy life details, because I have more than one person that would get upset with me for writing something online that I didn't first tell them (and for good reason). Mostly, I think I'll chronicle some of the fun things I'm doing, keep a marathon training log, and maybe every once in a while, find a timely topic or two to give my opinion.
So, since I'm not writing my first book anytime soon, I'll head to the fridge to get another of what will be many Summer Shandy's this season, and celebrate the start of something new.
